Hi all. After graduating from Uni, I got my Bachelor's and Master's degrees
in Design at U.C. Berkeley. Moved to Seattle and had a lengthy career as an
artist working in fiber, exhibiting my work in galleries, public buildings,
and the Seattle Art Museum. I did commissions, sold small production items
at fairs and festivals, and created numerous very large structures crocheted
out of paper and rope. Taught at a small art college, The Factory of Visual
Art, and numerous other schools and private venues around the Seattle area.
Turning a rather sharp corner, in 1982 I returned to Los Angeles and entered
the business world. For 14 years, I worked as Director of Marketing for Jon
Douglas Company Realtors. During that time, I was also certified as a scuba
instructor, teaching classes at Pacific School of Scuba, and became involved
with American Red Cross Disaster Services.
When Jon Douglas Company was acquired by Coldwell Banker in 1997, I took
that as an opportunity to start my own business as a freelance copywriter. I
never looked back. I write primarily for businesses, creating a wide variety
of marketing materials, articles, reports, profiles, and web content. In
2004, I co-authored Fat Stupid Ugly: One Woman's Courage to Survive, with
Debrah Constance, published by Health Communications, Inc.
I now live in beautiful Bellingham, Washington, where I enjoy my work,
my friends, my garden, and the Class of 65 website.
