Here's a chronology of my life so far after graduation:

1965 off to brand new moonscape campus at UC Irvine

1967 junior year in Athens and Delphi, Greece; woke up to coup d'etat

1968 got married in La Jolla (my dad was chancellor of UCSD for part of the sixties)

1968 transferred to UC Berkeley just in time for multiple tear gassings

1969 graduated from Berkeley Phi Beta Kappa (not deserved-Irvine grades transferred)

1971 birth in San Francisco of my first child, Hart, who later changed his name to Clarc

1977 divorced first husband and moved to Mill Valley in Marin County

1980 my son Clarc, the embodiment of all that is alive, was hit by a car and killed.

1981 moved to Berkeley and went back to school for a certificate in teaching ESL

1982 second marriage in El Cerrito; eight guests and $50 budget; ceremony in ancient Hindi dialect

1982 went to China for two years to teach English

1984-1991 went to SUNY Buffalo graduate school for a PhD in English and a Master's in Social Work

1991 moved to San Diego

1991 gave birth to IVF twins (Zoe and Eli each weighed over 8 pounds at birth)

1995 started teaching Children's Literature -San Diego State University English Department

2006 still here
